Blood Vessel Damage - Mile 18

Media: Print
Location: Birmingham
Year: 2019

About the work:
Invited to participate in The 26.2 Art Project for The Great Run Company curated by artist Adam Guy. Artwork was shown at mile 18 and at the subsequent exhibition at Millennium Point, Birmingham.

When running the continuous pummelling of tiny blood vessels in the feet results in a drop in levels of the red blood cells. The oxygen carrying blood cells can drop by as much as 20 grams per litre of blood. Blood Vessel Damage represents the microscoptic movement that’s happening inside the body of the runner. Artwork is large format print, developed through digital experimental image making.
